BARRHAVEN COMMUNITY TO LAUNCH PROVINCE-WIDE PETITION FOR ROWAN’S LAW

“Stringer Family, Former CFL Player, Community Leaders to Rally Behind Provincial Plan for Concussion Awareness and Treatment”

 

(Barrhaven)- Media are invited to join Gordon and Kathleen Stringer, whose daughter Rowan died from a concussion related injury while playing rugby, as well as local MPP Lisa MacLeod, area City Councillor Jan Harder, Mark Moors the Crown Attorney for Rowan’s inquest, and also former Winnipeg Blue Bomber, the Barrhaven Scottish Rugby Club and athletes, coaches and students from across Ottawa as they launch a province-wide petition supporting Rowan’s Law. Rowan’s Law is based on the 49 recommendations from a coroner’s inquest into Rowan’s death.

Speakers will include Gordon and Kathleen Stringer, former CFL player Mark Moors and local community leaders and medical experts. Representation from across Ottawa’s sporting community will also be hand, as will Canadian Blood Services, Be a Donor and Ottawa ThinkFirst/ Parachute.
